A Really Short History

Here in a nutshell is something about me.

I was first licensed in 1974 the same year Amateur Satellite OSCAR 7 was launched. Just as the OSCAR Satellite had a period of inactivity, so it was with me. To find out more about OSCAR 7 and other Amateur Radio Satellites, check out my Satellite page.

My first callsign was WN9PWZ, followed by WB9PWZ, N9CDT, WG9M, and with the first opportunity after the Vanity callsign program started, I switched the G and 9 around to the present call W9GM. I have held the Amateur Extra Class license since1982.

Over the years I have operated many of the modes that our hobby has to offer. You may find me chasing DX, working weak signal VHF and UHF, operating in a RTTY contest, or working the "Birds". Give me a call if you hear me on.
